The Brief
AMBA UK, a leader in employee benefits technology, approached us at mohunky to create Lumina – a scalable app designed specifically to streamline employee perks with an emphasis on sustainability and ethical choices. Lumina gives employees easy, centralised access to perks like wellness programs, ethical shopping, and more. Key features include single sign on (SSO) for seamless access to third party platforms without multiple logins, making benefits more accessible for businesses of any size.
AMBA came to us with designs already prepared by their in house design team; they just needed us to work our magic to bring the digital product to life.
The Process
Working closely with AMBA, we took a user centered, iterative approach to developing the Lumina app. We began with in depth research to get a clear picture of employees’ needs and how they prefer to interact with benefits platforms. This insight was crucial for the design phase, where we aimed to create an intuitive interface that lets users easily navigate through different benefit categories. We integrated single sign on (SSO) for a smoother experience, allowing users to access third party sites securely and easily from within the app with one login. Using agile methods, we continuously refined the app based on feedback, focusing on optimising performance and keeping data secure.
The Outcome
The finished Lumina app delivers a polished, ‘all in one’ experience, allowing employees to explore, manage, and make the most of their benefits. With its intuitive design and centralised access, Lumina makes it easy for employees to stay engaged with their benefits. Feedback from AMBA and initial users has been fantastic, particularly appreciating the SSO feature and the app’s reflection of AMBA’s commitment to ethical, sustainable choices. Companies are already seeing higher engagement with benefits and increased employee satisfaction thanks to Lumina’s seamless access.

Since launch, our Mohunky support team has been on hand to keep Lumina running smoothly. We have set up proactive maintenance and tailored support to make sure Lumina evolves with AMBA’s vision and adapts to new standards in the industry.
