The Brief
Roxburgh Milkins, a highly regarded firm recognised by Chambers and Legal 500, approached us to refresh their outdated and overly basic website. As the firm continued to grow, they wanted their online presence to reflect their professionalism, instil confidence in clients, and showcase that they’re at the top of their field whilst still feeling like a small local company. Their approachable yet expert style was something they wanted the website to communicate clearly.
The previous site, built on Expression Engine, was difficult to update and manage. After going through a rebrand, they asked us to redesign their homepage with a new layout that incorporated bold photography and delivered a more impactful, modern feel.
The Process
For this project, we partnered with Warren at Ralph Media, who managed both the website design and the new branding. He introduced bold imagery and created a fresh corporate logo that perfectly complemented the revamped site.
The old website had quite a lot of pages, which always makes the job a bit bigger, but overall it was a fairly straightforward site. To tackle it effectively, we suggested a phased approach for the redesign and switch over:
- Phase 1 focused on redesigning the homepage along with the website’s header, navigation, and footer. By creating a cleaner top bar, the site immediately felt fresher and more modern. We also reworked the navigation to make it more user friendly – initially, even we missed the sub-nav!
- Phase 2 involved applying new templates across the site and restructuring it as part of a complete redesign and rebrand.
We also carried out a sitemap and page audit to identify and remove old, repetitive, and redundant content. This ensured the site felt streamlined and purposeful. After a few rounds of revisions, we had a final design ready to go.
To capture Roxburghs ‘tight team’ ethos, we placed a strong focus on the team right on the homepage. By putting faces to the company, the website immediately felt more personal and approachable – qualities Roxburgh Milkins are known for.
The Outcome
Roxburgh Milkins now has a professional, informative, and easy to navigate website that truly reflects their values and expertise.
The use of locally recognisable imagery adds a warm, homegrown feel, striking a balance between being approachable and delivering a well established company feel. Their focus on building long term relationships and genuinely understanding their clients’ needs shines through in every detail of the redesign.
With their strong commitment to supporting businesses at all stages, the new website provides an ideal platform for them to showcase their bespoke services and expertise in a way that connects with clients on a personal level.
Ongoing Support
Following the launch of the Roxburgh Milkins website, we have provided ongoing support to ensure it continues to perform seamlessly. We provide technical support to address any issues promptly, guaranteeing the website remains stable, secure, and fast loading.
By monitoring site performance and analysing user behaviour, we have offered valuable insights to help Roxburgh Milkins enhance user engagement and improve navigation. As their firm evolves, we are on hand to scale the website, integrating new features or expanding its capabilities depending on their needs.
To make things even easier for their team, we trained them on their new CMS (Umbraco), giving them the confidence to handle content updates themselves while knowing they can rely on us for expert support when needed. Our partnership with Roxburgh Milkins extends well beyond the initial launch, ensuring their website remains a dynamic and effective tool for connecting with clients and showcasing their expertise.
