The Brief
Robbie, the founder of Timeout Boxing, approached Paul at Evry Creative for professional website design support. His relationship with his previous developer had broken down, leaving him with a WordPress site that he was unable to manage and update himself. The design felt outdated, and the website lacked clarity, making it hard for visitors to understand the services his business provided.
Timeout Boxing is a club that primarily focuses on offering classes for young students, helping them channel their energy, improve classroom behaviour, and support their mental health through boxing. Robbie wanted a clear website to reflect his business ethos.
The Process
Robbie already had strong branding in place, including a colour palette of greens and dark greys, which gave Paul a solid foundation for the website redesign project. Robbie wanted a bold and straightforward site with a focus on user friendly navigation and clear calls to action to encourage visitors to book classes. Imagery was also an important element, as it needed to convey a youthful and welcoming environment without any negative associations to boxing. The goal was to create a website with excellent user interface and user experience design, ensuring it provided an engaging and intuitive experience while reflecting Timeout Boxing’s values. Once the designs were finalised they were handed over to Tom, mohunkys lead developer, to build the back end of the website.
The Outcome
The new website is clear, engaging, and works seamlessly across all devices, offering a fully responsive design. Visitors can easily explore the services provided and contact Robbie to book classes. A key advantage of the redesign is that Robbie can now manage and update his website with ease using a custom built, intuitive content management system. During the onboarding process, he quickly familiarised himself with the back end and was confidently updating content within 30 minutes!
Ongoing Support
Since the launch, Robbie has already been in touch to discuss adding an online payment system as part of the next phase of development. This will simplify the booking process, enabling members to pay for classes directly through the website.
As the site is built on Umbraco, Robbie benefits from a bespoke web development solution with no reliance on themes or plugins, reducing maintenance concerns. With hosting fees as the only ongoing cost, the website is both cost effective and scalable, running at just £36+ per month.
By using SEO friendly web design, optimised website performance, and modern web development methods, this project ensures that Timeout Boxing’s online presence is well prepared for growth and visibility in search engines for years to come.
